Marley Cooling Towers: Over 100 Years Of History
Invention of the first atmospheric deck cooling tower (1930)
When the initial spray pond specified could not be enlarged to meet requirements, Marley designed and built a deck tower in the designated area.
The first to create a crossflow cooling tower (1936)
Marley’s first true crossflow design, the Small Series Horizontal Cooling Tower, featured a pressurized spray water distribution system, which would later become the key technology in the now-world-famous Aquatower.
The Marley NC® Crossflow Tower Introduces the World to Film Fill (1968)
The factory-assembled NC Cooling Tower offered up to 500 tons of cooling capacity in a single cell. It was the first to utilize PVC film fill and a low noise fan. It remains Marley’s flagship product today.
